How to Remove Manual Proxy Settings

If you need to disable or remove manual proxy settings on your device, follow the steps below for your operating system.

macOS

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Click Network.
  3. Select your active connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) from the list on the left.
  4. Click Advanced....
  5. Go to the Proxies tab.
  6. Uncheck all checked proxy options (e.g., Web Proxy (HTTP), Secure Web Proxy (HTTPS), SOCKS Proxy).
  7. Click OK, then Apply.

Windows (Windows 10/11)

  1. Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
  2. Click Network & Internet.
  3. Select Proxy from the left sidebar.
  4. Under Manual proxy setup, toggle Use a proxy server to Off.
  5. Close the settings window.

iOS (iPhone/iPad)

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Tap the (i) icon next to your connected Wi-Fi network.
  4. Scroll down to HTTP Proxy.
  5. Select Off.
  6. Exit the Settings app.

Android

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Network & Internet (or Wi-Fi & Network).
  3. Tap Wi-Fi.
  4. Long-press your connected Wi-Fi network or tap the gear icon next to it.
  5. Select Modify network or Advanced options.
  6. Under Proxy, choose None.
  7. Save your changes.

Linux (Ubuntu / GNOME)

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Network.
  3. Click the gear icon next to your active network connection.
  4. Go to the Proxy tab.
  5. Set Method to None.
  6. Apply the changes.
