How to Remove Manual Proxy Settings
If you need to disable or remove manual proxy settings on your device, follow the steps below for your operating system.
macOS
- Open System Preferences.
- Click Network.
- Select your active connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) from the list on the left.
- Click Advanced....
- Go to the Proxies tab.
- Uncheck all checked proxy options (e.g., Web Proxy (HTTP), Secure Web Proxy (HTTPS), SOCKS Proxy).
- Click OK, then Apply.
Windows (Windows 10/11)
- Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
- Click Network & Internet.
- Select Proxy from the left sidebar.
- Under Manual proxy setup, toggle Use a proxy server to Off.
- Close the settings window.
iOS (iPhone/iPad)
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Tap the (i) icon next to your connected Wi-Fi network.
- Scroll down to HTTP Proxy.
- Select Off.
- Exit the Settings app.
Android
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Network & Internet (or Wi-Fi & Network).
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Long-press your connected Wi-Fi network or tap the gear icon next to it.
- Select Modify network or Advanced options.
- Under Proxy, choose None.
- Save your changes.
Linux (Ubuntu / GNOME)
- Open Settings.
- Go to Network.
- Click the gear icon next to your active network connection.
- Go to the Proxy tab.
- Set Method to None.
- Apply the changes.
